Fifteen questions across five dimensions: ownership, workflows, data and tools, people, and governance. It takes about five minutes, runs in your browser, and stores nothing. You leave with a readiness stage, your weakest dimension with a first move to fix it, and a recommended next step, which can be to buy nothing yet.
Live Build Workshop
One working day, on site or remote. John and the people who do the work build one automation together on approved examples of their real work. The team keeps the working build, operating notes, a red-lined map of what to automate and what to leave manual, and a ranked list of what to build next.
AI Build Sprint
A fixed-scope sprint that takes one to three workflows from mapped to operating in your environment, over days to a few weeks. Options are tested on real examples before anything is installed, a named person reviews anything that needs judgment, and the work is documented for handoff. If the evaluation does not clear the bar, the outcome is a written stop decision instead of a system nobody trusts.
Fractional Chief AI Officer
A monthly engagement in which John acts as your accountable outside AI lead: priorities, tool and vendor decisions, policy and review paths, delivery oversight, and team development. Leadership gets a one-page scorecard every month showing what changed, what was stopped, and what the next decision is. It is a service name; John is an outside advisor, not an officer or employee of the client.
Government and public-sector practice
A separate practice for agencies and public institutions, scoped around the agency's authority, procurement rules, and public accountability. Soxoa does not claim contract vehicles or past performance; the applicable review path is set by the agency's authorized officials.

Built live on your own work, in one day
The Live Build Workshop ends with one working automation running on approved examples of your team's real work, not a slide deck or a demo on clean sample data. Self-serve automation platforms such as Zapier and Make are good tools you configure yourself; the workshop puts someone in the room who designs the workflow with your team and leaves notes they can run it from.
No software to resell
Soxoa does not resell software and does not require a particular platform. If the right answer is a tool you already own, whether that is Microsoft 365 Copilot, ChatGPT, or something already in your stack, that is the recommendation. The advice is not tied to a license.
A stop decision is a valid result
Every sprint has an acceptance bar written down before the build starts. If the evaluation does not clear it, you get a written recommendation to keep the current process, narrow the problem, or stop, and you can hold Soxoa to the criteria. The free assessment prints its own scoring rule and can tell you to buy nothing yet.
A firm that ships and operates its own software
Soxoa builds and runs 5 software products of its own (listed below), so the advice on review paths, cost, and failure handling comes from operating systems in production, not only from advising on them. John previously worked at PayPal, Cloudflare, and Inscribe.

The team behind Soxoa
Soxoa was founded by John Arndt. He has spent more than a decade working across AI, cybersecurity, fraud and risk, privacy, payments, and enterprise software, including roles at PayPal, Cloudflare, and Inscribe.
John founded Soxoa in Sacramento in 2024. The firm began by building single workflow automations for local businesses; in September 2026 the work was reorganized into four engagements, so a client can start small and keep one accountable person as the work grows.
Soxoa is founder-led and deliberately small. John runs every engagement himself and uses AI tooling for research, coding, and documentation; there are no account managers or junior staff between you and the person doing the work.

Agree the scope in writing
Scope, schedule, and price are agreed in writing before any work begins. Mutual NDAs are standard, and data handling, access, and acceptable test material are agreed before real records are shared.

A short preparation call identifies the workflow, the people who should be in the room, and the approved examples the build will run on, including the messy ones.
Build and review with your team
John builds with your people, marks what stays manual, and names the person who reviews anything that needs judgment. A workshop is one day; a sprint runs days to a few weeks; the fractional role runs month to month on an agreed cadence.
Hand off to a named owner
Every engagement ends with operating notes, access notes, and a named owner on your side, so the system keeps running without Soxoa in the room.
