Make the next quality decision easier to investigate.

Useful factory AI starts with a specific part, station or handoff. Soxoa can scope inspection assistance and operating records that bring images, readings, work instructions and batch identity together for the people responsible for quality and production.

Where AI can help.

Choose a visible condition you can label or a recurring information gap you can measure. The operating environment matters as much as the model.

Visual inspection assistance

At a controlled station, evaluate one defined defect or label discrepancy and present flagged examples to quality staff. Test missed defects and false alarms separately.

Measure inspection error patterns

Shift handover preparation

Structure operator notes around the line, batch, observed issue, attempted action and unresolved question. Keep the next shift connected to the underlying record.

Measure missing handover context

Maintenance and quality packets

Retrieve approved procedure passages and relevant work orders, then assemble readings and evidence for investigation. Preserve the instruction revision used by the reviewer.

Measure investigation preparation time

How the work moves.

A proposed sequence to test with your team. Each handoff keeps the source, the current status, and the person responsible for the next decision.

  1. Identify the production context

Confirm part, batch, station, camera setup and the current inspection instruction.

  2. Capture and compare

Collect controlled images or read-only events; apply evaluated vision and explicit checks for the defined attribute.

  3. Review the evidence

Show the image, reference and proposed exception together. A quality technician decides the next action.

  4. Learn under change control

Record reviewer corrections and test new versions against representative examples before expanding scope.

The technology behind it.

Start with your existing systems. These are options to evaluate; access, licensing, data handling, and compatibility are confirmed during scope.

Software and AI capabilities
TechnologyIts job in the workflow
Task-specific computer visionEvaluate a narrow visual attribute with labeled examples, including hard negatives and known defects.
Read-only industrial data interfacesExplore supported historian or OPC UA data access without changing machine control.
Approved instruction retrievalBring current manuals and prior work records into maintenance and quality review.

Hardware that earns its place.

Capture and operating equipment
EquipmentWhen it helps
Industrial camera, fixture and lightingCreate repeatable images; installation stability matters more than an impressive demonstration.
Barcode reader and shop-floor tabletTie each observation to a part and batch, then record the reviewer decision.
Optional production edge computerRun a validated workload locally where required; a developer kit is not a production deployment plan.
Technical references behind these options

Vendor documentation describes the underlying capabilities. It does not imply a Soxoa partnership or a prebuilt integration.

A useful first pilot.

One defect class at one station, or one shift-handover process, with representative operating conditions.

What we measure
Track missed defects, false rejects, review effort, throughput effects and stability across lighting or product changes.
Who reviews it
Quality staff own release decisions; plant engineers own process changes. The initial workflow does not alter machine setpoints or safety controls.

We agree the acceptance criteria before building, including what happens when an input is missing, an integration fails, or a reviewer rejects the draft. The handoff includes operating notes, access ownership, and a way to stop and recover the workflow. Scope and price are agreed before work begins.

Before we build.

Can a general AI model replace inspection equipment?

General image understanding is not validated metrology. A specific inspection needs suitable equipment, representative evaluation and acceptance criteria appropriate to the product and process.

Will the pilot connect to machine controls?

An initial scope can use documents, images or read-only events. Any later control integration is a separate engineering decision with the plant's established safeguards and owners.

What should we bring to the call?

Describe one inspection attribute or handover problem and how it is checked today. Keep proprietary drawings, controlled process details and confidential production records out of the initial inquiry.

Bring one workflow. Leave with a next step.

Thirty minutes with the Soxoa team to discuss AI for manufacturers: what slows the work down, which technology fits, and what a useful pilot would need to prove. Bring a description of the process; sensitive records can wait until data handling is agreed.
