Food, as collectible cards
Shoot a dish. It mints as a card with a grade, a permanent mint number, a rarity tier, and occasionally a foil that catches the light when you tilt your phone.
Rarity nobody assigns
A dish is not rare because we decided it was. It is rare because it almost never turns up across every capture in the network. Cheeseburgers stay Common forever. Catch something nobody has logged and mint #1 is yours, permanently.
The measure is a dish’s share of all captures, not its raw count, so a card does not quietly drift from Mythic to Common just because the app got more users. It moves only when the dish genuinely starts showing up more often than everything else.
Two numbers, not one
As a dish gets caught more often, its tier softens. As it gets sought after, demand climbs. Those are deliberately separate numbers, because an early low mint on a dish that later catches on should be the card that appreciates — and it is.
Your collection has a value line you can watch move, and every card shows its own arithmetic. A collectible economy that asks you to trust an opaque number is one nobody trades in.
Same dish, different grade
Every capture is graded on focus, exposure, composition, plating and framing. A 10 has to be clean on all five — one weak axis caps you at 9.5 no matter how good the rest are. You already own the dish. Now shoot it properly.
Seasons and regions are real
Soft shell crab during the moult. White truffle in Alba season. Green chile only in New Mexico. Hotaru ika for about six weeks. Miss the window and it is a year away — the app tells you how long you have left.
It only counts if you were there
Captures are checked for scene depth, handheld motion and the fine banding a camera picks up off a screen. Photograph a screen and the card mints unverified: it sits in your binder, but it earns no mint number, cannot be traded and does not complete sets.
Without that rule, none of the rest is worth anything.
